Well kiddies here we are the week of the 26th VIVA LAS VEGAS bash. I've never been to one ...always wanted to go...have it on the "bucket list". Anyone here been or going??
So, even though I like/appreciate the new rockabilly bands/performers...my favs are always the originals who started this craze.

I've never been to VLV, but I guess I might end up going at some point.
Like you, I appreciate the newer bands (and I have to acknowledge that
there really are some phenomenal musicians out there these days). Yet
when all is said and done I just get a lot more out of the material from
the late 50s and early 60s than I do from the contemporary revivalists.
Incidentally, Terry Daly's "You Don't Bug Me" is one of my absolute
favorites, in part because of its lyrics. I'm not even sure whether lines
like the following are stupid or whether they're brilliant: all I know is
that I find them hilarious:
You took me for a fool all the time
You took all my pennies and nickels and dimes
You kept it up til you thought I was poor
But that's ok, you don't bug me no more . . . Rock!
