R.I.P. ~~ROKY~~

A sad day here in the vault. Got home from work & read that Roky Erickson died. I've been a fan for a long time. The 13th Floor Elevators & his solo work....gets lots of play here. I quickly slapped together this tribute.

For most, SUN records in Memphis is known as being the the birthplace of rock n roll. But, the little studio at 706 Union Street was recording blues artists before the young lad with "E" in his name strolled through the front door....

The Killer ...with filler !!

I've thinking alot about Jerry Lee Lewis lately so I dug out the collection I got years ago (probably from TZ---THANKS to the original uploader!). I really didn't get into his music until the early '80s as I was discovering..there was more to the music from the '50s then what hit the airwaves! I believe that is when this box set came out of Germany. A friend of mine bought it & I knew someday...I'd get it also.  I attempted to see Jerry live in (I think) the early 2000's....but he was a no show.
Over the next few weeks... time permitting...I will share the rest of this legend's work a the famous SUN studio.
