R.I.P. Joe Bussard

Learned of Joe from a newspaper clipping a friend sent to me years ago. YouTube let me learn more...

Opened my ears to the real early stuff.....a national treasure for saving what might have been lost...

Thanks for posting that. I knew about Joe Bussard from some of his various projects (including a podcast that he was doing as of a few years ago) and also from the documentary "Desperate Man Blues." I wonder if his unbelievable collection is, after all, going to some university or even to some private collector. I would hate for everything to be dispersed and sold off piecemeal.

From Pitchfork:

In June, Bussard told The Washington Post that he did not have any plans arranged for the stewardship of his collection after his death. He bristled at the suggestion that the records should go to a university or the Library of Congress, saying that the records would be lost to those who love them. He told The Post, “I like to say I’ll enjoy them until I croak. Then whatever they do with them is fine.”
