50,000,000 Delinquents !!!!

Back in the late '80's ...way before the internet...unless you were a lucky record hunter and/or had big $$ for some of the rarities offered here..compilation LPs were the way to go to satisfy your ears in a cost effective way. I bought this LP based on some of the artists within being mentioned in the great KICKS  magazine put out by (the late) Billy Miller and Miriam Linna. A few favs of mine here include Gene Maltais, Chuck Harrod, and Steve Carl.

Truck Stop Jukebox

Back in the day...when I actively pursued finding vinyl to satisfy my appetite ...I would periodically come across LPs that highlighted "trucker" songs. This is a lost genre (as far as I know)...but one I've always enjoyed. So, today's jukebox...is filled with some of my finds both from vinyl & the web (as I still hunt music in that fashion).

Keep on truckin'  !!!

Andre Williams

Geez... A double punch in the head this Monday. The one & only Andre Williams has also passed.

Discovered his "uniqueness" when a friend & I were rummaging through a box of 45s rescued from an old radio station back in the mid-80's . "Greasy Chicken" on FORTUNE had us wanting more!!

No post for this one...but TWIGHLIGHTZONE still has active links. (see comment).

Dick Dale Tribute

The King of the surf guitar. I was lucky enough to see him live several times throughout the last 20 years or so. Live on KEXP has him playing my favorite tune by him. A legend now gone....
